Saferoads is regarded as an industry expert in the safety barrier sector and has designed and manufactures industry leading barriers, the HV2, Ironman Hybrid and T-Lok Barriers, which are specifically designed for road conditions. Saferoads MASH tested Temporary Barriers can be used in many applications such as, road maintenance, resurfacing and construction, lane closures, detours and bridge repairs.
MASH (Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware) is a set of testing procedures and safety guidelines developed by AASHTO. These testing guidelines were adopted by the Austroads Safety Barrier Assessment Panels as the preferred standard for road safety barriers in Australia. Rigorous testing using the MASH guidelines ensures barriers perform effectively in real life crash scenarios by safely redirecting out of control vehicles in a very specific direction to reduce road trauma and fatalities.
MASH testing involves installing barriers in a controlled environment and testing them against a range of high speed vehicle and truck impact scenarios to validate impact resistance in crashes. Barrier performance during impact is then carefully analysed and assigned a MASH Test Level Rating, giving customers confidence the system meets site safety requirements.
