For the past 5 years, Saferoads have been using LS Dyna, an industry leading Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modelling tool. This program allows our engineers to accurately predict the performance of safety barriers, and other devices, in a crash or impact scenario. There are an infinite number of combinations and inputs in a real-life crash test scenario, as well as in the LS Dyna FEA program. Having the capabilities to fully validate R&D programs plus other innovation and development projects using LS Dyna gives us an incredible advantage over other barrier developers or resellers.
Saferoads recently completed a project using LS Dyna to completely validate the full matrix of deflections for our T-Lok Concrete Barrier, as well as other simulations to show the results of certain impacts with anti-gawk screens and many other variables.
Our engineering team continue to learn about the extended and endless capabilities of LS Dyna, and look forward to working on some very exciting R&D projects in 2022 and beyond.
